This book is for all those who love exploring our national parks

The National Parks Scavenger Hunt is almost here from Timber Press.

The national parks hold a special place in my heart. I became infatuated with them many years ago because I loved this idea of people coming together to protect and preserve our public lands. So I set a goal to visit all the national parks in North America.

I’m always planning my next visit

I’m still working on reaching this goal—currently, I’m in the 20s of how many national parks I’ve been to. But I’m not in a hurry. I intend to take my time and soak them up, one glorious visit at a time. Right now, my favorite park is Bryce Canyon—I had a magical experience catching sunrise with the hoodoos. Then I recently hiked the Grand Canyon in a single day with my son, Jack. (Oh boy, we were hurtin’ by the end.)

the world is filled with national parks fans

Since I set my goal to visit all the national parks, I came to realize how much other people love our public lands, too. In fact, many people and families have lofty goals when it comes to visiting our national parks. This is why I decided to write a scavenger hunt book to celebrate them all.

what’s in the book?

The book includes all 63 national parks. You’ll read a short overview about each one, and then you’ll get a list of things you should look for while in this park. The list is specific, often featuring animals, flowers, or other sites you can only find in this specific area. My hope is that families can use this book to learn about what they might find in our parks, and they can also take it along with them on their adventures to keep a little checklist and memory book.

I encourage you to write in the book, put dates, add fun memories, and anything else you want to make it your own. I love seeing how these public lands have brought people together in positive ways, and I hope this book is able to do that as well. Thank you for your support.
